Norfolk School is a U3-4 Full Primary School (Year 0—8), which has a decile 9 rating. In 2016, the school has a staffing entitlement of 7.49 FTTE to cater for 150 students. Students are placed in one of six classrooms from New Entrants (Yr 1) to Year 7/8. An enrolment scheme is in place, where families living within the zone are automatically entitled to send their children to Norfolk School.

Norfolk School was established in 1879 on the present site. The school celebrated its 125th jubilee in 2004. The school farming community is well established. Consolidation with Durham School occurred in 1947. Historically the school catchment is bounded by Tariki, Surrey, Norfolk, Durham, Dudley and Mountain Roads. In the last ten years this area has expanded as neighbouring schools have closed. As farms amalgamate there is increasing diversity occurring.

Community involvement in school activities is both fostered and welcomed, which is evident by regular consultation by the Board of Trustees. Expectations of the school are high and are encouraged to be so. Community demands, however, are realistic and are consistent with those of a concerned, caring and progressive society.
